A call to pinoy blogs and bloggers to link blogs on HR 1109

We are issuing this call to all pinoy blogs and bloggers to link to other blogs discussing or posting on the issue of the House Of Representatives passing HR 1109 in congress. Link to these blogs even if your blog's topic is not on anything related to HR 1109.

HR 1109 is one the most important actions of the current congress that will affect the whole country and our lives.

Let us link together to give pinoys the opportunity to be properly informed on the issue so that they can intelligently decide on their own or join a group to take action.

Hi Pey,

This is not a comment but an invitation.

The UP FORUM's upcoming issue will have elections as theme and we are currently assigned to write analyses of relevant topics. In my case, I will be writing about stars, athletes, and other strange personalities wanting to join the electoral foray.

I was wondering if you would be willing to be one of my resource person for this article. In particular, I would be writing about this topic: "Manny Pacquiao for President? Why not?"

Manny Pacquiao, however, is just a takeoff. The article, as I mentioned, will likely deal with other personalities we do not usually associate with the political campaign train.

The reason I am making this request through this blog is because I feel you are updating your blog more than you check your mail.

In any case, I would like to get your views on the following:

1. Is there something wrong with Pacquiao running for president? Why? Why not?

2. What is the ideal fit for a political office? Does academic or professional credentials really matter?

3. We have had lots of smart and distinguished personalities becoming chief of state but we are still in the rut, what explains this?

4. What for you is an alternative candidate? Does Pacquiao qualify as such candidate? If not, what is your profile of such candidate?

5. What is the role of the university in this issue? How about the ordinary citizen?

Please let me hear from you as soon as you read this.

Thank you.

Yours,

Alicor Panao

At least, I think, if you enjoy yourself and do your best in your current life, you don't have to be afraid of death.

Your message reminds me of my friend's wisdom below;

"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin! "

(no need to approve the comment sir ) hehehe gusto ko lang mag-comment. I thought you would like the advertisement. Me, I definitely don't like it, sorry. The campaign period is too far and that one is really a campaign ad. He cannot say he is advocating for some programs because there is nothing substantive in the ad or message (comparing with other political ads).

This is a pity since I have read the Sunday issue of Manila bulletin and watched the Wowowee interviews of Mr. Roxas; konti na lang(?) macoconvince na nya ko na iboto sya (mainly because of his accomplishments) but not because of his ad (naiinis ako, sorry hahaha).

He explicitly says every time what are his plans if he becomes president, medyo napapadalas na ata (negative for me). I don't always watch television but every time I have time, I always encounter only his campaign interviews , ads, etc.

I think all of the presidential candidates still have to spend more of their time doing their job than campaigning. Although, reality is, it's time also to prepare for the campaign (ang obvious naman masyado na-eemphasize ang election this early).

On the lighter side, not to be too biased (haha) on the ad issue of Mar, Mayor Binay's ad is definitely a No No for me.

Senator Roxas, there are still lots of things that you must focus into aside from pedaling towards the presidency.
